Nat "King" Cole, actually Nathaniel Adams Coles, was an American jazz pianist and singer. He already played the piano in his father's church at the age of four, Cole's international success as a singer came abruptly in 1948 with his recording of the song Nature Boy. He was the first African-American man to host an American television series and the father of singer-songwriter Natalie Cole (1950–2015).
