        The Bauhaus staircase is Schlemmer's most famous painting. It stands for the struggle of art against National Socialism.
Oskar Schlemmer was a German painter, sculptor and stage designer, from 1920 to 1929 as a master at the Bauhaus in Weimar and Dessau, whose logo he designed. Schlemmer's main theme was the position of the human figure within its space.
