Artist's description:
View at a mosque (1914)
August Macke (1887 - 1914) was one of the most famous German painters of Expressionism. He took part in both exhibitions of the Blue Rider. His personal style, seen as typical for Macke today, is characterized by the preoccupation with the effect of light and the use of pure, bright, harmonizing colors. The paintings appear cheerful and light, anything tragic is foreign to them.
