Artist's description:
The Helgoland lighthouse is located on the Oberland. It was built during the Second World War as an anti-aircraft tower and was put into operation as a new lighthouse in 1952 to replace the old one, which was destroyed during the war. The lighthouse has the strongest beacon on German lighthouses, which can be seen from a distance of 28 nautical miles on clear nights (e.g. on the East Frisian Islands in the south and in Eiderstedt in the east).
