Artist's description:
The Teide National Park on Tenerife is known for its unique flora, in particular the wildpret's viper's bugloss (Echium wildpretii), which dominates the landscape with its intense red to blue-violet flowers. This plant, which only occurs at altitudes of between 1,600 and 2,000 meters on the island, is a spectacular example of the endemic vegetation of the Canary Islands. During the flowering season from May to June, the park offers an impressive natural spectacle that attracts visitors from all over the world. The Wildprets viper's bugloss is not only a feast for the eyes, but also plays an important role in the ecosystem by attracting bees, which in turn produce the famous Teide honey.
