Elegant architecture of the CFM station in Maputo
The photo shows the CFM station in Maputo, Mozambique, a fascinating example of Victorian architecture. The building radiates a soft peppermint green hue complemented by warm brown accents, giving the overall image an inviting atmosphere. The elegant arches and pillars, along with the characteristic wrought-iron roof, create a harmonious composition that reflects both historical significance and contemporary functionality. This backdrop would fit wonderfully in a modern living space or a creative work environment.
Mood-enhancing art for cultural meeting points
The image of the CFM station is perfect as a piece of art that tells stories and connects to the culture and history of Maputo. It brings a quiet elegance to any room and invites viewers to pause and appreciate the details.
We recommend prints on acrylic glass or aluminum dibond to best showcase the colors and details. Also available in other formats. If you are unsure about your product choice, we are happy to advise you personally.

Artist's description:
Built in 1912, Maputo’s Caminho de Ferro de Moçambique (CFM) was voted by Newsweek as one of the ten most beautiful train stations in the world. In the old baixa (downtown) it’s an elegant peppermint green building with Victorian arches and pillars and a wrought-iron roof dome that was designed by none other than Gustave Eiffel of France’s Eiffel Tower fame.
One of the nicest things about the CFM train is that it exists not only as a working station, but as a dynamic cultural space. Since Maputo’s rise from devastation towards „democracy“, the CFM train station has become a frequent host to assorted events from Maputo Fashion Week to live music concerts and art exhibitions. This year CFM train station turns a hundred years old.
