Joshua Tree National Park is located in southeastern California. The park is named after the Joshua palm lilies, also known as Joshua Trees, which belong to the Yucca family. They characterize the landscape. The average life span is about 150 years, but the largest specimens are estimated to be over 600 years. They grow up to 7 cm per year.
