Accordion Player by Moonlight (1924) by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner
Ernst Ludwig Kirchner was a German painter and graphic artist and is one of the most important representatives of Expressionism. Kirchner was a founding member of the artist group "Die Brücke". In 1937, the Nazis branded his works "degenerate". More than 600 of those works were subsequently sold or destroyed. A year later, he died from a gunshot wound.
