David Foster Nass, born in 1972 in Hamburg, is a photo artist and AI prompter based in Bünde, North Rhine-Westphalia. His practice merges conceptual photography with generative image-making to create unique, multi-layered, ambiguous compositions that balance realism and surrealism.

In his series Photographs Never Taken, Nass translates inner visions and precisely crafted prompts into visual scenes that look like photographed reality yet were never captured with a camera. Recurring motifs – such as atmospheric coastal landscapes or the Food Truck by the Sea series – reveal his affinity for clean forms, subtle tonal gradations, and narrative detail.

The final works emerge from a hybrid process of prompting and digital post-production that meticulously refines each image. In doing so, Nass positions himself at the intersection of photography, AI art, and contemporary visual culture.
