Erfahre mehr über Jinhee Park
Jinhee, where are you from and where do you live now?
I was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. I spent 5 years of my childhood in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and have studied and worked in Tokyo, Japan for 10 years. Since moving to the U.S. in 2011, I am currently based in New York, US.
How would you describe your artistic style?
Actually I have been struggling to define my artistic style, but I'm trying to focus on Narrative Contemporary/ Abstract inspired by Mono-Ha (もの派).
What's on top of your bucket list (as an artist or just as a person)?
Running Art Schools and building scholarship foundations to support art students.
Vector or watercolor?
Watercolor.
New York or remote mountain hut?
It is hard to choose either. I love both but, if anything, New York.
Becks or Merlot?
Merlot.
And a little Proust: What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Throw away greed. Let go of megalomania.
Which living person do you most admire?
I admire every living creature.
What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Human-made virtue per se.
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
I love learning, creating and reflecting.
If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be?
A star or the air.
The world needs more...
goodwill (even though it is pretentious).
I’ve changed my mind about…
the absolute value of the human.
What most people don't understand is that…
In my humble opinion, I am not eligible to finish this sentence. Having said that, if I have to complete the sentence, I would say: What most people don't understand is that they have never understood.
