Erfahre mehr über Cyril Cayssalie
Cyril, where are you from and where do you live now?
I'm French and I was born in paradise, New Caledonia. I now live in Sydney, Australia.
How would you describe your artistic style?
I would say that I'm originally an urban and landscape photographer. Since I now live in Australia, I also started beach and aerial photography.
What's on top of your bucket list (as an artist or just as a person)?
Hard to choose between a relaxing photo trip to Cuba drinking Mojitos on the beach and a wildlife safari in Botswana.
Analogue or digital?
I started over 25 years ago with analogue, but digital now. Canon EOS 5Ds.
New York or remote mountain hut?
New York for sure! Again and again.
Becks or Merlot?
I'm French, so? Merlot for sure! But my favourite would be a good Burgundy (family origins), either a Puligny Montrachet or a Romanee Conti.
And a little Proust: What is your idea of perfect happiness?
My partner and myself on a remote island in the New Caledonian lagoon (kitesurfing and photoshooting). No phone, no wifi.
Which living person do you most admire?
Bono from U2.
What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Chastity.
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
In equal measure: my daughter Chloe and my partner Lennie.
If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be?
Never thought about this.
The world needs more...
kind and open-minded people.
I’ve changed my mind about…
healthy eating and practising yoga!
What most people don't understand is that…
photography is an art.
