This photograph is part of the project 'Vive le vélo'. A self-portrait in my own country. I had the idea to drive my own TransBelgium. An adventure including a bicycle, a camera and a lot of inquisitiveness to find the fundamentals of Belgicism colliding with the eye of a Belgian dirtbag photographing bikepacker. I rode my bike, during some dark days in Belgium. During these days my country was in crisis and mourning due to cowardly terrorist actions by Daesh. I drove my bicycle from the most eastern boarderstone of Belgium to the most western boarderstone.
