Monks in Laos

This photo shows barefoot monks walking in the streets of Luang Prabang, Laos. If you should happen to visit Laos, this is probably one of the nicest experiences you can enjoy. Get up at 5 in the morning, take part in the alms giving procedure and see hundreds of monks all dressed in bright orange cowls quietly walking the streets and receiving food from the locals. Unfortunately, there are some photographers and tourists that don’t keep a respectful distance and take pictures right in the monks faces. Don’t do that! Stand at least a few meters back. This photo, for instance, was taken with a macro lens from a 8 meters distance.
